> Choosing a Frame
Choosing a Frame
Choosing from millions of
frame styles and mat colors can be challenging. That’s why the experts at
the ArabsArt.com Framing Studio offer you a few tips you may find helpful:
- Q. Should I
try and match my frame with the colors in my room?
- A. Probably not. We’ve found
that a frame that works well with your art, looks great with every décor
and design style.
- Q. How wide
a frame should I use?
- A. Select a frame width that is
appropriate for the size of your piece. Using a wide frame on a small
image may tend to overwhelm the artwork.
-
Selecting a Mat
- Q. Why
should I use a mat?
- A. Mats are the perfect way to
bring added attention to your image. The space between the frame and art
creates a “museum quality” look to your piece. (Double and
triple mats can be used to enhance your artwork even further.)
Q. What
type of mat should I use?
- A. It is best to select a mat
color or style that does not “overwhelm” your piece, or in any way
draw attention away from the image.
-
The Right Glass
- Q. Should I
use non-glare or standard glass?
- A. For areas that will come under
direct, more intense light, non-glare glass is a good idea. We also
recommend non-glare glass when you are framing a piece with muted colors
such as Impressionist art or watercolors. For images that contain great
detail (or are double or triple matted), standard clear glass is ideal.
